My name is Coral Anika Theill. I am the owner and manufacturer of
"Honeycomb Keepsakes."
I have been operating my business for 16 years.
"Honeycomb Keepsakes" ornaments, collectibles and candles are made from
100% pure beeswax.
The candles will burn two to three times longer than paraffin candles.
They are also smokeless, non-toxic, and when protected from drafts, drip less.
While burning, they emit a honey scent aroma. The wicks are 100% cotton.
I am one of the few candle makers that use 100% pure beeswax.
The ornaments are made from molds from around the world. Several of them are made from antiques. Many of my candle molds are from Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
The mold for the Antique Egg Candle. was created from an ancient hand-carved African rock. "Honeycomb Keepsakes" can be used to decorate your home in a variety of ways-hung on the wall or a window, as a tree ornament or displayed on a stand. The ornaments and candles are golden in color and are all hand-poured. Several of the ornaments are translucent.
In the late 1800's, wax ornaments were exported from Germany and were among one of America's first Christmas tree ornaments. They look lovely decorating an entire Christmas tree trimmed with popcorn, cranberries and electric candles!
I have a large selection of religious and Christmas theme ornaments including a variety of angel and Santa Claus ornaments and candles. The angel and Santa Claus candles can be ordered with longer wicks and hung on the tree as decorations.
The Victorian Egg Candle burns approximately 16 hours. The Celtic Cross Candle burns approximately 18 hours (burning time is approximately two hours per ounce.) The Victorian Egg candle is lovely while burning. It leaves a lacy edge, while the candle burns down the center. It continues to be a top seller!
My catalog pictures over 200 designs of ornaments and candles. The designs represent most all ethnic and religious backgrounds, and holidays. featuring flowers, birds, hearts, angels, skeps, teapots, & teacup designs , antiques and reproductions, collector's items, nautical merchandise, Native American merchandise, statuettes, Judaic merchandise, wall decor and hangings, and metaphysical designs. I am always discovering new and unusual molds and creating unique molds of my own.
On occasion, the ornaments and candles may develop a white powdery surface known as "bloom," a sign of the purity of the beeswax. To restore the golden sheen and honey scent of the keepsakes and candles, just rinse in lukewarm water, buff with a soft cloth or nylon, or warm with a blow dryer. The ornaments will not melt and will last forever if given proper care. Beeswax has a melting point of 142 degrees. I always suggest the ornaments not be left on a stove or in a hot south window or rear window of a car.
In the Victorian Era, beeswax was a symbol of friendship. In the 1600's it was considered a crime to adulterate beeswax.
Beeswax is a gift from the honeybee that has been used for millennia-burned for light, used as a rich emollient to protect everything from delicate skin to fine musical instruments, as a lubricant and a medicine, and loved for its sweet scent and warm glowing color.
I purchase my beeswax directly from the beekeeper's honey house in 90 pound blocks. The beeswax is unstrained and there is honey in the wax. Some people believe in the healing properties of beeswax candles and use them for aromatherapy. The ornaments and candles have always sold themselves at fairs because of the lovely aroma and honey scent. Beeswax is the oldest and purest wax in the world. Variations in color are a natural occurrence.
The art of making the ornaments includes melting, straining, pouring and some detailing. Beeswax art is a patience art. Beeswax tends to want to stick, crack, bubble and warp, sometimes requiring several pourings. I have found this art healing for the soul and I am greatly rewarded by the end product and the satisfaction of my customers.
Retail prices start at $1.00-$22.00. Wholesale prices range from $.80-$12.00. My prices are generally set by ounces. You may call and ask me about the top sellers, if you wish. There are favorites, but I sell all 200 designs year round. With each ornament and candle, I provide a care and gift enclosure card with complimentary gift wrap.
